Connectivity

Advance Voice & Data has access to all major providers' networks. This means we can offer the best service at the best price in any given location. We also work with many of the so called "Alt-Nets" (companies like City Fibre, Community Fibre, G. Network and others) who are building there own full-fibre networks in towns and cities where Openreach have been slow to move.

Broadband

Broadband is a low-cost Internet Access service suitable for home use and small businesses. There are 3 levels with availability wholly dependent upon your exact location/address. Where FttP is available, only this service will be provided although there are a wide range of speed options and prices.

All broadband services are now supplied as Data Only. Digital Voice is available as an optional extra.

  • SOADSL - low-speed broadband (up to 24Mbps download) for basic web browsing and single-user voice. We do not recommend this service but in some areas it is still the only low-cost broadband available.
  • SOGEA FttC - "SuperFast Broadband" (Up to 80Mbps download) is deliverd over fibre to the local street cabinet and then by copper cable to your property. It is suitable for basic web browsing and general use including up to 4 simultaneous voice users. It is less an less useable for streaming services or cloud-based business use.
  • FttP - "UltraFast Broadband" offers speeds up to 1.6Gbps download  and is suitable for small business use (typically up to 10 people) and for modern family homes with "smart" devices and TV streaming services in mulitple rooms.
Broadband services have a number of limiting factors that affect throughput speeds and service levels.
  • Contended - Broadband services are shared at the local Exchange with a number of other users. This means that at busy times, actual throughput may be reduced. This will be more noticeable on slower bandwidth services.
  • Asymmetric - Most broadband services are biased towards download speeds. For example, 1Gbps FttP has an upload speed of 115Mbps, 80Mbps FttC has an uppload spped of only 20Mbps (all speeds are location/distance dependent).
  •  Low SLA - Low-cost broaband services have only rudimentary Servce Level Agreements (SLA) meaning that, in the event of a fault, you can be without service for several days (or longer) without compensation.

For business critical use, Advance Voice & Data recommend adding optional 4G/5G GSM backup (subject to signal strength) along with an uplift in Care Level (SLA) to achieve a slightly faster response to faults. Where bandwidth is limited and can be affected by peak-time use, there is an optional "Elevated Best Efforts" (EBE) option to secure a minimum guaranteed bandwidth. This is recommended for connections carrying Digital Voice services for more than one user.

Direct Internet Access (DIA)

(Leased Lines)

This is a dedicated (uncontneded 1:1), symmetrical fully managed business-grade service with appropriate SLA offering speeds of between 100Mbps and 10Gbps connected directly to the Public Internet.

Service and pricing is provided strictly Subject to Survey. Excess Construction Charges (ECC) may apply if your property is not close enough to the nearest Carrier Point of Presence (POP). We will always make this clear when you order and you have the right to cancel the order if there are any ECC's highlighted by the survey.

This type of service is recommended for businesses with a heavier data requirement including Digital Voice, Cloud-based and speed-critical applications.

Once again, resilience options should be considered in business ciritcal situations. This could be as simple as a 4G/5G GSM backup or even a FttP/FttC broadband with automatic failover just to keep some functionality alive but can go up to a fully Diverse Routing service where different fibres from different Exchanges or Carriers are installed to minimise the chance of total failure.

We can also advise on and provide backup power solutions of required.

Point to Point (P2P

Inter-site LAN Extension

Advance Voice & Data can provide private fast-fibre connections between nearby sites/buildings where they are serviced ny the same Exchange. A P2P circuit is available at a range of bandsiwdths and is a dedicated Ethernet "LAN extension" of a customer network. There are no routers involved.

If there is Line of Sight (LoS) between adjacent buildings, we can install a 1Gbps wireless LAN Bridge semalessly extending your LAN.

MPLS

Private WAN with Internet Breakout

For larger Enterprises, Multi-Protocol Label Swithcing (MPLS) is a secure encrypted WAN using our Ethernet circuits. Typically, there will also be one or more sites with Internet Breakout providing shared access to all sites in the WAN.

Multi-Tenancy

Office Suites & Business Estates

It is more economic to provide managed, shared access to a single Internet connection for multiple businesses in a single location. This could be an office block with multiple tenants or a trading estate / business park.

Business Parks in semi-rural locations often find that Internet services are very limited and the cost of installing Fibre is very high. Advance Voice & Data have significant experience in multi-tenancy solutions where an otherwise unaffordable cost can be shared amongst subscribing tenants.

There are opportunities with us for Landlords wishing to provide connectivity as part of their serviced office package.
